I'm not talking about spam (e.g. nigerian scams, or fake viagra emails). I'm talking about emails from companies you buy stuff from or maybe an email from some site you filled out a survey for that sends you a legitimate message.



i think it's effective provided that the company sending the email is cautious in how they use this approach...some important things to remember:

- the email has to be relevant to the targeted user
- try to gain 'permission' from the user to continue marketing to them (i.e. registered website login, filling out survey)
- make it worthwhile (i.e. promotional offers)
- do not continue to market to the user if they request to be removed from your list

this is a great appoach if it is not abused!

Those of you who are considering buying these coins, could you just hurry up already and buy them? Really. I'm really getting tired of these commercials. I understand marketing, and right now they are looking to cash in on the whole Obama thing. But, at some point, people are going to stop buying these things, and they will stop playing these commercials. So, please, if you have been thinking about it, could you just do it soon?

I got stuck on desk duty last night. We leave the tv on for background noise. I counted 48 of these commercials on within an 8 hour period. Same commercial. There was also an infomercial with Montel Wiliams, which I didn't watch. Please, for the sake of those who work the overnight, insomniacs, and those who watch tv in general, please buy your Obama coins now, so we can go back to the normal commercials that are on at night (weight loss, hair loss, 900 numbers for phone sex, and Viagra. I'm actually starting to miss them, and I never thought I would say that).

Please, just buy these stupid things so that we can all get on with our normal tv viewing. Please, if you've been debating buying them, will you just do it already???
I have changed the channel. It's on every channel.

And, no, I don't want them either, I just want the commercials to go away.
